Codigo: CPD 02 Age: 18-26 Project: The camp takes place at the “Muellerhof”, which is a reconstructed traditional half-timbered farmhouse near the cities of Dresden, Chemnitz and Leipzig. It runs a socio-cultural centre for the local population and has constructed a so-called “garden of senses” which consists of a small wood, a play area, trees for climbing and a natural stage for events with an old circus-wagon. It also contains an area with herbs and berries. Work: Your help is needed in the renovation of a youth centre of the municipality. And you are welcome to cook traditional meals from your particular countries for all the visitors of the centre. You are invited to create an “international day” in the local after-school care club, offering for example international games. In the designing and producing of a mural your creative and manual abilities are requested. We will work on the cultivation of the “garden of senses”; especially on further building playground apparatuses and benches using natural resources. Furthermore we will help to harvest fruit, vegetables and herbs and learn how to manufacture jam, teas and different kinds of oil, etc. Leisure time: Since the Muellerhof offers different seminars to the local inhabitants, the participants are welcome to join these for free (e.g. pottery, crafts, etc.). The University of Applied Sciences, town hall, museum and church of Mittweida can be looked at. It is also possible to visit the cities around Mittweida (Dresden, Leipzig or Chemnitz). Accommodation: The participants will sleep in the big loft of the Muellerhof (80m²) which includes a shower and toilets. Remarks: Don´t forget to take work clothes, swim trunks/swim suits and a sleeping bag with you, traditional recipes to fix a tasty dinner, and do not forget where you come from but pass it on to everybody else, for instance by bringing typical things from your country, because we would like to get to know about your home and way of life. approximately 25kms from the exhibition city Leipzig. Eilenburg’s rich history of over a thousand years, makes it easy to call it one of the cradles of Saxony. The continuous rule of the Wettins-dynasty beginning with the Earl of Ilburg in the 11th century was carried on until 1918. Part of their territory is the state of Saxony today. In medieval times Eilenburg’s main business was brewery. Martin Luther was a common guest in the prosperous city. In the following centuries the small village Eilenburg emerged as a city dominated by industry. In April 1945, Eilenburg was almost completely destroyed. The „Sorbenturm“ is the only remaining part of the Ilburg. Assumedly it was built at the highest part of the 220m x 150m plateau. Aloop road outside the castle wall connects the „Sorbenturm“ with the „Amtshaus”(deanery), the former county court. Part of this road is aimed to be renewed with the help of the volunteers.

residents and some commercial and trade firms. The City of Neu-Isenburg was created on 24 July 1699 as exile for the Huguenots, French Protestants, who had to flee after the abolition of the tolerance edict of Nantes from France. Her new local lord, count Johann Philipp of Isenburg in Offenbach assured protection, free use of the French language and freedom of religion to them. After a short time, the settlers have been very successful while working in their original profession and put so the foundation-stone for the economic development of Neu-Isenburg. The project is located in the city. Volunteers will do creative and hard manual work by building a recreation area with seat opportunities for a big school.
Project: 40 years ago, when the Vietnam War escalated, we started to promote peace in Sievershausen. In an old barn sleeping- and seminar-rooms were established. The „Antikriegswerkstatt” (Anti-war factory) became the nucleus of the Peace Centre “Antikriegshaus Sievershausen”. Expansions and further reorganisations followed. Now there are several buildings, surrounded by a nice park, including a guest house and a museum with an assembly hall. The Antikriegshaus is at the verge of a village with about 2500 inhabitants. Sievershausen lies 30 kilometres east of the Lower Saxony provincial capital Hanover at the freeway to Berlin.
anniversary in 2009, is applying for the national competition „Entente florale“ and will be hosting the national horticultural show in 2013. Prenzlau is the capital of the biggest county in Germany. Project: In Spangenberg, a small village in the south of Kassel, in the middle of Germany, there is the „Himmelsfels“ (Heavensrock), a rock with an area of 8 hectares attached to it. Placed on this area there are so called embassies of different countries - caravans that have been modified artistically. In the summer there are several events concerning art, culture, gospel and encounter. This year the city of Spangenberg will celebrate its 700th anniversary and there will be a grand celebration. With the help of an international team we want to enrich the anniversary festivity and attach an international flair to it. The programs will take place on the “Himmelsfels” as well as in the city.
inhabitants belongs to the former county of Lippe in North-Rhine Westphalia. It offers a picturesque old part of town with a castle, town walls, narrow lanes and half-timbered houses. The region is characterised by farming, hills (up to 500 metres) and lots of forests.
the city of Giessen. Currently there are living about 100 Asylum- seekers who came to seek asylum in Germany out of various reasons, e.g. political, ethnic or religious persecution or poverty. Usually they just stay for 3 months in the centre until they are being sent further on to other centres, other so called- safe countries where they entered first or to their countries of origin. Most of the people living in that centre are young men from Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Eritrea and Balkan countries, - there are also some women and children or older people. They live under simple conditions and are not allowed to work or leave their district. Their perspectives to stay in Germany are often quite limited and so is their contact with the locals. The international volunteers are invited to share life with the refugees for two weeks. In a study part we want to discuss the situation of refugees in Germany and Europe as well as current developments in the area of Asylum-policies. We want to get in contact with the residents of the reception centre to learn about their stories, difficulties and perspectives. Together with the refugees we want to organise common activities, where we also want to take the children and women into consideration. Above that one of the goals would also be to get in contact with the young members of the local protestant church to raise greater awareness for the refugees and to break the isolation. Also we will get in contact with medical students who medicate people without legal status. We especially invite volunteers to participate, who are able to speak Turkish, Arabic or Farsi.

Project: The “press cabin” Mutlangen is a centre for active non-violence in South Germany (Baden-Würtemberg). In the 80es Mutlangen was a symbol of the nonviolence protests against the atomic missiles Pershing II. The press cabin was the starting point for several blockade actions. As the missiles were removed, the time of the civil disobedience and the lawsuits was then over. The historic press cabin became a small convention place. Solar cells on the roof are producing electricity. There are trainings to topics such as conflict management and violence prevention and there are still activities regarding the peace movement. Mostly young people use the press cabin for seminars.
